Over the past couple months since we announced that we were shutting down the On The Grind Mixtape Program we have received a ton of emails, Myspace Messages, DMs and phone calls from artists telling us to keep it going. The response has been so overwhelming that we have decided to do one more volume with the new submission rates and let you guys decide for yourself whether the program stays or goes!

Volume 7 Will be a double release with 2,500 Copies being distributed on the campuses of Clark, Morehouse and Spelman for The 2009 Atlanta Football Classic and another 2,500 copies being distributed for The 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Makin' It Magazine would like to thank everyone that submitted music for Volume 4 of the On The Grind Mixtape series. All submissions have been rated by our panel of judges and the following 15 songs were selected. If your song is not one of those chosen you've still got one last shot.

Had a great time in Indianpolis for the 2008 Black Expo. There were a lot of parties and events. Over 200,000 people came out to enjoy the festivities and we were right there distributing Volume 3 of the On The Grind Mixtape. Got a lot of good feedback can't wait till next year. :)

On The Grind Volume 2 was succesfully released in Miami, Florida for the Memorial day weekend. The mixtape was hoste by none other than GA Dirt front man Playboy Tre. 5,000 copies were distributed for free throughout Broward and Dade county. Sho' Nuff/Capitol Records recording artist Willie Joe has been tapped to host the first On The Grind Mixtape which hits the streets of Atlanta 2/29/08.
